MARK & ANTONIA
Are Becoming Husband & Wife
OUR STORY
It was 2019 when Mark & Antonia’s simple love story first began, which was about 6 months before the crazy days of lockdown in the UK. After a few years of being perpetually single or finding themselves in hopeless relationships elsewhere, both Antonia and Mark had more or less given up on the prospect of finding someone else to share their hearts with again, let alone love, but it was in September of that year when Antonia stumbled across Mark’s profile on an online dating website.
Neither of them had ever had much luck with online dating sites in the past but this felt very different. From day one there was an instant connection with each other and over the weeks that followed they spent a lot of the winter evenings making each other smile and laugh, sparking a warmth inside each of their hearts that kept them cosy as the nights started to draw in and the autumn leaves began to fall.
At the end of October after having gotten to know each other better by that point, they arranged their first date at a little Italian restaurant called Pesto in Wolvey. I think it’s fair to say that both of them had a few nerves on the run up to that date, as they were both somewhat out of practice and really liked each other but nerves were soon settled when they both locked eyes with each other in the car park for the first time and after making it inside, got to sharing stories over what felt like a feast for the 500 of different delicious dishes that they both equally enjoyed. It was in the weeks that followed that they both started to talk more frequently, sometimes sending silly photos of each other on snapchat and other times with long phone calls in the evenings. They used to talk for hours and conversation really was effortless… it felt so easy like they had known each other for years.
On New Years Eve in 2019, Antonia invited Mark to a garden party round one of her friend’s house’s in Bulkington. This is where they shared their first proper kiss together where there were definitely some fireworks going on between them both, as well as all across the sky, as people welcomed in the new year. After a couple of weeks of plucking up the courage, Mark decided to message Antonia to see if she wanted to go away with him for a long weekend together in Liverpool. It was here on the few days they spent together where both realised that maybe, just maybe the dream could come true for both of them after all.
Since then and throughout our 6 years of being a couple, we've created a beautiful home and life together, made countless memories as you’ll see from some of the photos, and now after many years of trying will finally be raising a little family of our own.
In September of 2022, Mark planned a surprise trip away for the two of them to drive from Geneva to Zurich to go and see Ed Sheeran in concert. On route they stopped off for a detour in the Grindelwald mountains of Switzerland. Mark and Antonia took a cable car to the top of the Jungfrau Mountain range. At the top Mark asked Antonia to come with him across a cliff-top walk to Bachalpsee lake as he wanted to see the views of the mountains across the lake. Antonia could think of nothing worse at that moment in the freezing cold than to go out into it even further on another long walk, which was a point of view she reminded him of continuously! However, with a bit of persistence they made it to Bachalpsee Lake. It was here he got down on one knee, turned on some music, took the ring box out of his pocket and asked Antonia if she would make him the happiest man in the world?
Together, we've discovered that the best adventures are the ones we create with each other and we feel so grateful for our partnership. We would love it if you could join us this summer as we say "I do" and kick off the next phase of our life together as Mr and Mrs. We're SO excited to share this day with those who've been a part of our journey!
